HPV endocervical screening + Pap smear

Searches for the presence of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) DNA.

  • HPV screening investigates the presence or absence of viral DNA and strains 16 and 18, if present.

  • PAP SMEAR: Collection of cells from the cervical area to investigate any pre-cancerous lesions caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).

How to prepare for the exam

  • Do not use creams or suppositories in the 24-48 hours before the test.
  • You must have finished your period at least 4-5 days before the test.
  • Avoid sexual intercourse in the 24 hours before the test.
  • On the day of the test, perform proper hygiene of the external genitalia.

Results ready in a maximum of 15 days, also by email.

How to collect results

Results can be received by email, ordinary mail or collected personally at HeLab from Monday to Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In case you delegate someone to deliver your sample or to collect your result, it is necessary to present the signed form “Sample delivery form” or “Result collection form” together with the copy of your own ID card and the copy of the person’s ID card you delegate.
