How to prepare for the exam
- wait at least 7 days from the end of any antibiotic therapy
- do not urinate for at least 2 hours before the examination
- the day of the exam clean carefully the external genitals
After the exam it is recommended to drink plenty of water during the day to promote urination and obtain a mechanical washing of the urethra.
What the test is looking for: aerobic bacteria, fungi, mycoplasma and ureaplasma – culture test – chlamydia, gonococcus, mycoplasma hominis (quantitative), mycoplasma genitalium, ureaplasma urealitucum (quantitative), trichomonas – PCR – including any antibiogram
